BRAIDS
Braids was at the beginning a trademark of Alicia Keys. She was apperaing everywhere with braided hair. She had 2 personal hairstylist. Nikki Tucker (until 2005) from Los Angeles who made hair for Grammy Awards or videos like Karma and Elise from New York City - she made Alicia’s braids for example for “Songs In A Minor” cover. Right now Alicia is having different hairstyles and is not doing braids as often as she used to.

HER PIANO
It’s Steinway & Sons. Alicia threats it like her own child.

BEFORE A CONCERT
Alicia tries not to talk much. She drinks concoction tea. Also the whole crew pray.

HATS
Alicia got tons of them. Over 200 and she keeps collecting them. She used to wear them to hide her acne problem but now her skin got better. She’s using hats thought.

FIRST SONG WRITTEN
“I’m All Aone”. She wrote it after her grandfather died.

She could be an olympic swimmer

ON HER OWN
When she was 17 she moved to an apartment on the 13th Street between 5th and Lenox. She made a little studio in a basement.

DARKNESS
Alicia loves to play piano when it’s completly dark. She has the best sence of sound then.

ANIMALS
She had few cats when she was younger but she felt really bad when they got old. Now she doesn’t have any

Alicia was ill. She was feeling reallu bad. Her voice wasn’t in good condition. A doctor has visited her just before the performance

MOTHER
Terri Augello is hald italien half irish. She has red hair. Alicia says that she only has suceed in her career because of her. Alicia also is the boss of her mother. She’s her advicer.

PROFESIONAL
Alicia is a workoholic. She is working durning the nights while recording an album.

THE DIARY
Alicia is writing a diary since she’s 9. She says it’s the best way to express yourself. Only her diary knows her greatest secrets. That’s way she called her second album “The diary…” - they are really personal about her feelings, her life, her love.

THE SCHOOL OF ART
Her mum was working really hard to be able to provide Alicia the best artistical education. She has discovered the talent of her daughter really early that’s way she started to sign her up on various classes: dance, piano, singing, acting

BIKINI SWIMMING SUIT
You will see her like that only at the beach, she’s not going to show off her body in magazines etc.

MAKE UP
She doesn’t like to have a lot of make-up. Maybe only something for lips to show that she’s taking care for herself

HIGH SCHOOL
Her lessons were almost all about music. But she had to learn also normal subjects like matemathics. But Alicia is saying that in this case, matemathics is really musical.

POLITICS
Alicia has already spoke at the Congress in Washintong DC about the issue of AIDS in african countries

DESIGNING
She’s not into it. But if she would design something it would be jeans for fatter ladies.

JEANS
Alicia loves jeans pants. It’s her love and addiction

BODYGUARD
One of her bodyguards - Carter - is going everywhere with her. She’s as bad as he looks. He’s her guardian angel and her friend.

MANAGER
Jeff Robinson met Alicia when she was 15. His brother was learning Alicia singing.
