Alicia Keys is on course to secure her highest position on the UK album charts with latest LP The Element of Freedom. The record, which was released in December and has so far peaked at number seven, has reportedly seen a 48% weekly increase following her performance on Jonathan Ross’s BBC One show last Friday.
According to the Official Charts Company, The Element Of Freedom is in third place on the album midweek chart behind Florence and The Machine and Paolo Nutini. Provided the record does not drop by Sunday, Keys will beat her previous peak position on the chart in 2001 when debut Songs In A Minor reached number six. Meanwhile, new single ‘Empire State Of Mind (Part II)’ is expected to climb into the Top 10 on Sunday.
